In Days To Come: The Good of Suffering / Advent Recap Wk3
This week we learned from Guest Pastor Niles Holsinger that the gift of suffering is essential to the Christian faith and our individual walk with the Lord. Great love will always be followed by great suffering, and no one displayed that better for us than Jesus did.
Amidst our pain, suffering, joy and unpredictable life circumstances, the mysteries of God may run rampant throughout our minds. However, it is the place where we have questions about God that the Father asks us to draw near to Him, as He will draw near to us.
The Lord will move in different ways than we may want Him to. And if we’re looking for Him to show up in a specific way, we just might miss the miracle He desires to accomplish in our own lives. Even more so, we may miss the work He is doing in the lives of those around us and in all of creation.
As we are walking through this advent season, the message on Sunday was a great reminder to trust God for everything, even if He is moving in a way we never expected to. After all, the King showed up in the form of a baby after 400 years of silence from God - He always moves in the unexpected because He is always better than we thought He was.
Using the above recap or the content below, gather a few friends in your Advent Huddles to talk about what repentance has looked like in your own life and how it has impacted your communion with the Father.
Ask: “What does repentance look like in your own life?"
